Mortician
We are looking for an experienced mortician to join our well established funeral home. The position is for our established location in Brisbane. This is a full time position with rostered weekend and after hours work as required.
The successful applicant must be able to work autonomously, but also within a team environment, be conscientious and have a high attention to detail.
Applicants must also display the following:
- Demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Possess a caring and understanding nature

Receptionist
- Welcome all visitors in a professional manner
- Provide high level of customer services to clients and guests to ensure the smooth running of reception and office operations
- Manage phone system and first point of contact for inbound phone calls
- Handle internal and external phone, email and digital inquiries
- Assist the Workplace team with processing requests and providing backup support for other roles within the team as required e.g. stocking areas with stationery and amenities; assisting with filing and general administration.
- Be proactive in ensuring a clean, tidy and well-presented work environment (reception, chapel and guest meeting rooms) for all clients and staff;

Graphic Design & Print Personnel
Established in 1883 by Kate Mary Smith, our company, K.M.Smith Funeral Directors, remains a 100% Australian family owned firm, offering families outstanding care.
This unique full time position, located on the North side of Brisbane, is suited to someone who has the creative and technical skills required to design and deliver print and audio visual materials in a professional and time conscious manner.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Production of print stationery, visual and audio tributes
- Maintenance of our digital tribute centre
- Stock control and equipment maintenance
- Records and filing system upkeep
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience using Adobe CC: Acrobat, InDesign & PhotoShop
- Ability to set up print-ready files for our in-house printer
- Experience with Movie Studio Platinum, an advantage but not essential
- Attention to detail, quality control and accuracy
- Communication, time management and organisational skills

ACCOUNTS OFFICER / CLERK
About the role
Opportunity for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Bowen Hills head office team. Working directly with the CEO and the CFO, you will be responsible for the day to day and some monthly processes of the accounting functions within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data entry
- Weekly payroll administration
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Monthly accounts reconciliations
- New supplier setup
- Banking, bank reconciliation and petty cash
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Liaising with creditors, debtors, employees, and management
- Maintain records and files electronically
- Perform all tasks within the policies and procedures of the WHS system
- Other responsibilities as authorised by the CEO.
Essential:
- Confidentiality
- Accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills, including compassion and sensitivity due to the nature of the industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of MYOB accounting processes
- Knowledge of, and experience using computer applications, in particular MS Office (Excel) and MYOB account right
- A resilient and driven attitude
- Ability to use initiative, multitask and prioritise
- Good organisational skills, work ethic and personal initiative
- Knowledge of administrative and financial procedures and protocols
- Follow instructions, direction, and procedures for safe work practices
- 2 years plus experience in a similar accounting role
- 2 years plus experience using MYOB.
